So again after a longer than expected break, time to get back to it while the weather is decent, as previously i cut out all the rot and rust to get back to good metal, i intended to repair the cab floor area but the more i poked the worse it got so i decided to not mess about and cut out the whole area to replace, probably the easiest and quickest way if i figured in all the patches i would have had to make, the step and arch was pretty much a copy and paste kind of thing to the previous side apart from some rot around the inner of the B Pillar, pretty straight forward so far…….but next job is outriggers and another sill!!!!!

While i am having my enforced break due to the new pet i have still been busy gathering information and ordering the panels required to start the drivers side restoration when i get back to it, here are a few of the new panels required so far according to my findings……i am sure this will get added to!!

Also had to fence in the van for safety reason as the new beast is starting to prowl!!

We were finally able to pick the latest addition to the family…..Barbara Fett, a Basset Hound puppy, had to drive to Scotland to fetch her, she is settling in well but i forgot how much hard work and more importantly…how much constant work they are, so it looks like i wont be on the van as much as i would like for the a few weeks, truth told it might be nice to have a break and regroup anyway before tackling the drivers side of the van, it will give me a bit of time to think about and plan the cab area and internals a bit more (planning ahead) and obviously buy all the new panels etc.. for the drivers side rebuild.
